Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said that government focused on administering a third vaccine dose or a booster shot to Sri Lankan citizens in the future.
He said that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed authorities to study the matter further.
“Many countries have already started giving the third dose as a booster shot. Therefore, the President has instructed to study the matter further. We have already given the first dose to 93% of the eligible people in the country. Also, 23% of the eligible people have recieved both the first and second doses,” he said.
The Army Commander also requested the public to follow health guidelines strictly.
