State Minister Channa Jayasumana today (10) said that the people is showing a carefree attitute after lifting the quarantine curfew without realising the danger of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to the media, Jayasumana said that after lifting the curfew, large gatherings could be seen in religious and other places.
“The pandemic is not over. There is a danger of another wave but it seems that people do not care about it. They are behaving as if the pandemic is over,” he noted.
Speaking further, Jayasumana said that the people should behave with responsibility to curb the pandemic. They should not take the freedom after lifting the curfew for granted, he pointed out.
