Prices of Litro gas cylinders were revised again following after increasing it last night.
Accordingly, the 12.5 kg gas cylinder will now be sold at Rs. 2,675 after a price reduction of Rs. 75 from last night. The price of a 5 kg domestic gas cylinder will be sold at Rs.1, 071 after a price reduction of Rs.30, and a 2.5 kg domestic cylinder will be sold at Rs.506 after a price reduction of Rs.14.
The 37.5kg Litro Mega gas cylinder will be sold at Rs. 8,300.
The price of 12. 5 kg LAUGFS gas too has gone up by Rs. 984. Accordingly, a 12.5 kg cylinder of LAUGFS gas will be sold at Rs. 2,840 and price of their 6 kg gas cylinder will be sold at Rs. 1,136 after the increasing the price by Rs. 393.
Meanwhile, prices of several commodities including cement, bread and wheat flour were gone up following the gas price revision.
The All Ceylon Bakery Owners’ Association (ACBOA) said that the price of a 450g loaf of bread will be increased by Rs. 5 from tonight. Prima Ceylon (Private) Limited and Serendib Flour Mills (Pvt) Ltd have raised wheat flour prices by Rs.10 this morning as well.
Also, the All Island Canteen Owners’ Association (AICOA) announced that it will increase the prices of lunch packet, fried rice, kottu and a cup of milk tea by Rs.10 from tomorrow.
Moreover, Sanstha Cement Corporation has increased the price of 50kg cement bag by Rs.93 from midnight yesterday. Accordingly, one bag of cement will now be sold at Rs. 1,098 from its earlier price of Rs.1, 005.
It is also reported that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) is considering to increase fuel prices following the price hikes in the global market.
