Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero, who heavily criticized the government’s conduct in recent times, has been appointed as the Chancellor of the Colombo University with effect from 17 November.
Accordingly, the President has sent the appointment letter to the Ven. Thera. Ananada Thera confirmed that he received the letter from the President.
However, the University said that it has not received any notice regarding the new appointment yet.
Emeritus Archbishop Most Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis is the current Chancellor of the Unievrsity of Colombo.
