A Prisons Department has reportedly commenced a probe following recovering a mobile phone and handsfree from the prison ward in which former MP Ranjan Ramanyake is receiving treatments.
Ramanayake was transferred to Welikada Prison Hospital on 10 November to present him to clinics at National Hospital of Sri Lanka due to his knee injury.
When Prison Officials checked Ramanayake’s ward, they have found a mobile phone and handsfree which are reportedly belonged to Ramanayake.
The Prison sources said that Ramanayake will be presented to the Prison tribunal under the 78 Provision of the Prisons Ordinance.
