The committee appointed to investigate incidents involving the Sri Lankan cricket team during the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia has recorded a statement Pastor Jerome Fernando, Daily Mirror reported.
Accordingly, Fernando has been questioned for more than two hours.
Earlier, Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe formed a five member committee led by retired Supreme Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena to probe allegations against Sri Lanka Cricket team in T20 World Cup in Australia from 16 October to 13 November 2022.
The committee is tasked with investigating the national cricket team’s participation and other incidents during the ICC T20 World Cup.
Following several ‘predictions’ made by Fernando with regard to Sri Lanka’s performance in T20 World Cup, several factions have requested Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe to probe if Sri Lanka Cricket has involvement of a certain religious cult.
