Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said the ministry is considering amending laws on drug-related cases as the current procedures take time and have drawn public criticism.
Rajapakshe told the media that since it has been accused that drug-related complaints have been filed based on revengeful reasons, strict protocols will be followed.
He said some drug samples sent by police are not narcotics and it is clear that the existing laws are misused in such cases. The Minister said, therefore, certain public accusations carry out the truth regarding such instances.
