French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to make a significant visit to Sri Lanka after concluding his trip to Papua New Guinea.
According to reports from French Media, the visit is set to take place on Friday (28) night and continue until Saturday (29) morning.
During his brief stay in Sri Lanka, President Macron is expected to hold a meeting with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe. This visit holds great historical significance as it marks the first time a French president has ever visited Sri Lanka.
Interestingly, the announcement of this visit was not made beforehand by the Presidency of the Republic. Prior to arriving in Sri Lanka, President Macron is scheduled to visit Vanuatu on Thursday (27), followed by his historic visits to Papua New Guinea. These visits hold special importance as they mark the first time a French president has visited independent Pacific countries.
