A motion might be submitted to Parliament against MP Ali Sabri Raheem who was arrested for attempting to smuggle gold for expelling him from Parliament.
During the party leaders’ meeting today, it was discussed that action must be taken against MP Raheem, as his actions have brought disrepute to all MPs.
It is reported that former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa expressed his belief that the MP should be expelled.
The party leaders agreed that a resolution should be introduced to request the Speaker to take action against MP Raheem.
