A private bus traveling from Colombo to Kataragama collided with a lorry near Duplication Road at Jubilee Bullers Junction in Bambalapitiya this morning, resulting in at least seven passengers being hospitalized.
The impact caused the bus to overturn. Among the approximately 15 passengers on the bus at the time of the accident, two women and five men sustained injuries and were admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo.
The authorities revealed that the collision occurred because the bus had ignored the traffic lights. The Bambalapitiya police have initiated further investigations into the incident.
