The Software Engineer, who was arrested in connection with NMRA data scam has deleted those files from his residence for a period of five hours from 03:45 a.m. to 10.24 a.m. on 09 July 2021, the Attorney General’s Department informed the Court today (29).
According to the News First, Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris told the Court that the suspect had tendered in his resignation to Epic Lanka Technologies Private Limited 10 days prior to the incident.
Therefore, the investigations rule that this was not a mistake but a deliberate act and it can be considered as ‘digital terrorism’, he said.
The suspect was remanded until 6 October.
