Public Security Minister Sarath Weerasekata today (11) said in Parliament that reports of Presidential Commissions of Inquiry (PCoIs) are only for the reference of the President and current President decided to publish a part of the PCoI report of Easter Sunday bombings due to his sympathy and dedication.
He said so when several MPs requested the government to publish all the volumes of the PCoI report.
“None of the past Presidents had released full contents of reports of PCoIs that they appointed to the public. The PCoI reports are for the President’s reference. But the current President decided to release a part of the report to the public because of his sympathy and dedication,” he claimed.
Weerasekara also said that all the volumes of the PCoI report of Easter Sunday bombings cannot be released to the public yet because there is a court case pending.
