Renuka Perera was appointed as the new Chairman of the state-owned dairy producer MILCO, today (20)
This is after informing former MILCO Chairman Lasantha Wickramasinghe to resign from the post yesterday (19).
Perera is the Administrative Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP). He was the Chairman of National Housing Development Authority (NHDA). He was resigned from the post alleging that he had been pressurized by the subject minister and former MP Duminda Silva was appointed to the post by the President after that.
Last week he was appointed to the post of Litro Gas Chairman, replacing Theshara Jayasinghe by Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa. However, the appointment was cancelled by the President.
