The Consumer Affairs Authority has turned down the request of milk powder importers to increase the price of 1kg of milk powder.
The milk powder importers had requested the CAA to allow them to increase 1kg of milk powder by Rs. 272. The importers claim that due to import cost of milk powder, some importers have limited importing milk powder now.
It is reported that there is a severe shortage of milk powder throughout the country. Apart from that, gas shortage can be seen island wide as well, the consumers alleged.
