Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa criticized a statement made by Deputy Director General of Health services Dr. Hemantha Herath in Parliament yesterday (5).
Dr. Herath on Wednesday (5) said that if COVID-19 situation in the country gets work like in India, there is nothing to do rather than accepting the situation. He said so at a press conference when a journalist asked whether there are any plans if Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 situation become worse like it did in India recently.
Premadasa criticized this statement and said it was an irresponsible one because the public might be panicked because of that.
“The public might get a wrong idea because of statements like these. I request the Health Minister to correct this,” he said.
