Circulars on the official attire of staff grade officers in the State sector have been revoked.
According to the Ministry of Public Administration, circulars issued on 26 June 2019 and 27 September 2022 have been revoked.
Through these circulars, female employees could wear modest attire that protects the dignity of service rather than traditional Sari or Osari.
This decision was reached following the recent controversy over female teachers’ attire.
A group of female teachers reported working in modest and comfortable attire instead of traditional Sari or Osari last week.
