Teachers’ trade unions have decided to continue their trade union action despite the Prime Minister’s pledge to resolve decades long salary anomaly issue in two phases.
Teachers and principals met the PM yesterday (12) to discuss resolving their demands at Temple Trees.
During the discussion, the PM pledged to solve the salary anomaly issue in two phases. Accordingly, one third of salary increase will be granted in 2022 and rest of the amount will pay in 2023.
However, the teachers demand to resolve the issue based on the recommendations of ‘Subodhani’ committee report.
Therefore, they will continue the trade union action further.
